Christmas Cheer
I wanted to get in early to wish everyone a wonderful and happy Holiday season before everything gets a little crazy!
You will notice the pic above has one of the deer antlers I did a while ago – seemed very suitable to a Christmas-themed picture! I also took this chance to add some Kate-Spade-esque gold dots to a plain white square ceramic vase I had. I loved how these looked on the lamp I did so I decided to gussy up this free vase that came with a flower arrangement I got when my youngest, Alex, was born. It was pretty uninspiring to begin with:
Back to the point of this post though! I hope that everyone has a fantastic time over the Holiday period and gets to spend some time with loved ones. For me, Christmas is all about friends and family and I love this time of year. I also love Christmas carols – drives my husband batty that I put them on ALL the time. I do limit myself to just Dec 1st – 25th though. Not like I listen to them all year! Who doesn’t love a bit of Bing Crosby at Christmas though??!
Result, results, results!
A little while ago I did a post asking for some audience participation (read it here). Breaking News: The child’s peacock chair is done! There was no real consensus on comments but everyone’s colour suggestions were really great. It would … Continue reading
Hello, Failure!
So, not every DIY works out – this one didn’t! I took some ordinary wire hangers and bent them into letters to make a “hello” sign. I did manage to get the letters looking reasonable… but just couldn’t manage to … Continue reading
Take a seat…
Or better yet, decorate one! I think this may be my first IKEA hack. Although I’m not sure it counts as a hack if you still use it for the purpose it was designed for. I’m not using a bed … Continue reading
Time for some audience participation!

I really love vintage peacock chairs like these: Images: http://www.californiahomedesign.com, http://www.kozykingdom.com, http://www.storiesbystella.com Don’t they look fantastic? Unfortunately, they are also quite expensive. Beautiful things … Continue reading
Oh, deer.
For a while I have wanted some antlers. There is a fine line to walk when you are talking taxidermy and animal parts in your house. If you get it wrong, it looks very, very wrong. But a well placed … Continue reading
Mirror, Mirror on the wall
If you’ve taken a look at my “About” page on this blog, you will know that one of the things I love is a sunburst mirror. I think they are gorgeous and also work well in a number of different … Continue reading
The Midas Touch
I love a bit of gold. Actually, I love more than a bit. I really love it. Not the brassy 80’s gold finish but a slightly deeper gold or a matt gold. Recently on Instagram I entered a competition run … Continue reading
